WEEK #2: STARTERS MENU

Ok, let me explain this it’s to add to last week’s tasks (you can print the table picture in the next post so you can check what you did and how you are improving). This week it will get a little more complicated, but there are less tasks, so all fine!!

*STARTING TIME: having a fixed routine will improve your study, and will also increase the time per day you devote to it.

HOW TO: Make yourself a study plan. It doesn’t have to be very elaborate (yet), maybe the starting times are enough. If you decide to go for something more elaborate, make sure you schedule the homework the same day the teacher told you to do it, because the lesson will still be fresh in your head, so  itvwill take less time from the work itself AND from the time you’ll use to study the lesson, because you will review it sooner.

If you want to do a more complete schedule, look HERE.

Also, obviously, FOLLOW IT! it’s a plan, so maybe change it a little bit if you don’t have anything to study for a particular subject, or if you have an exam for another one in the next few days. But YOU MUST start at the scheduled time, no excuses here. The idea is to create a routine of study, to spend more time working and less on your phone.

*PRACTICAL SUBJECTS: This one is going to be hard, especially if you hate math as much as I do. It’s not that big don’t like the subject, it’s that I have this little attention problem and I don’t seem to be able to copy numbers in the right order. So I always have mistakes in math/chemistry that lower my grades and blah blah. Anyway, those problems are supposed to go away with practise, which is why:

HOW TO: No matter if you tend to have more or less stupid mistakes, comprehension mistakes or just calculator dyslexia: practise those subjects. Depending on the length of the particular problems you are studying, do more or do less, but THERE SHOULD NEVER BE A DAY WHEN YOU DONT DO ANY. atvleast one a day. There are millions on the internet, so NO EXCUSES BABY!

(BTW that’s me motivating myself because…Yeh, imma have trouble with this task for sure)

And since these are pretty hard assignments, this will be all for the week. Now, do it! (Also, add it to last week’s work;) we can do it guys!)

WEEK #1 ADVICE

1-lets go little by little, but putting effort on this!

2-participation is key. Make teachers happy, and they will make YOU happy. I am already seeing difference in that aspect and I barely asked two questions!

3-WRKTE. EVERYTHING. DOWN. I’ve posted a table that you can use to see your progress here .

week#1: my experience

Week one was a total catastrophe. I have just finished my final tests for the second term (I still have one to finish school, the one when I want to change!). I was SL tired I could almost get up every morning to go to school without a ton of coffee. Thank God my dad is a nice human being and makes my breakfast before I go downstairs.

Anyway: here are my impressions on the first week.

*AVOID FORGETTING HOMEWORK: it worked just fine! I recommend the app I said on last post : my study life, available for Android. It’s simple so you don’t waste to much time on it and it’s also very clear and has a calendar, a class timetable, it allows you to log your exams and to create revision tasks for them, apart from the obvious homework use. So I didn’t forget any homework during the week.

Again, if you prefer another app or using a paper agenda, it’s fine! I just get lost with my paper one. Tell me your experiences in the comments!

Here you have a screenshot of the app. Ill probably make a post comparing some agenda apps soon!

*AVOID “FORGETTING” HOMEWORK: I want so lucky on this one. I did all my homework every day except on Monday! I simply was too tired, so Ihave no excuse

*PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS: It certainly was hard, especially in math, but I think I did it. I even asked once in Spanish class, and spoke out in chemistry. I should have probably been more active in math, but it was only the first week!

*DONT BE A MESS: b**ch please. I have actually been cleaned and tidier than I have ever been! Just take a look at this:
See? You do t really have to be as incredibly beautiful as most Tumblr pictures out there. Those are goals, but let’s go step by step. Just write something that you and the teacher can read.

See? You don’t have to be as goals as most studyblr blogs out there, just write in a way that both you and your teacher can read. Studyblr will arrive in its time!

*BE ACTIVE IN CLASS AND AT HOME: Well. This part wasn’t so great maybe. But, as I said, I have barely had any homework or important classes: we are watching two movies, reviewing and doing exercises in class…Thatslrt kf things.

There you go. My experience this past week. Tell me yours!!!

WEEK #1: THE BEGINNER

Hey guys! Here’s our challenge for this week:

*AVOID FORGETTING HOMEWORK: ohhhh boy that happens to me very often, because I am way too lazy to write down what video have to do, or to find the piece of paper where I wrote it, or to ask one of my classmates.

-HOW TO: I have decided to find an agenda app that can syncronise between my iPad and my phone. That way, I won’t be too lazy to write my homework down in my school agenda. No, I have already discovered that writing the number of the exercise we have to do at the bottom of the notebook page doesn’t work unless you open the notebook. My personal recommendation to the moment: My study life, although I will be able to tell you more about it at the end of the week! Of course, if a paper agenda works for you, that’s great! It simply doesn’t for me!
*AVOID “FORGETTING” HOMEWORK: big NOPE. Thats cheating. That’s bad. You have your nice agenda! USE IT! NO EXCUSES! And teachers are not stupid: they know you are lying about your dog eating the ten chemistry exercises you had to give in.

-HOW TO: Easy: AGENDA! GET UP FROM THAT BED AND DO SOMETHING FOR YOUR FUTURE!!

*PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS: Sleeping in class may seem more interesting than listening to the teacher in some cases, but it’s not going to help you pass your exams. So get up and sleep at night. At least seven hours per day. Letting go of technology for one hour before bed is a good idea and it’s scientifically proven that it improves the sleep quality, but maybe we can wait a couple weeks for that task!

-HOW TO: Could it be more obvious?

Also, don’t be afraid to raise your hand and ask. The teachers will like it. Your marks will be higher. Win-win!

*DONT BE A MESS: I’m not saying you go from writing in your own language to becoming a studyblr type of person. I’m just saying that nice class notes will be easier to understand and nicer to read. They will have more appeal than ones you notvonly have to study, but to decipher.

See what I mean?

-HOW TO: Blegh. Obvious again.

And, last but not least:

*BE ACTIVE IN CLASS AND AT HOME: again, lying on your bed watching Netflix is nice now, but I don’t think your 30 year old self thanks you for it.

-HOW TO: In class: take notes. Or underline your book/handouts while the teachers talk. It will take a lot of work off later! In your house: if you don’t find yourself in the mood/need for study yet, at least read your notes/book, what you did today in class. Don’t try to read more if you don’t want to, but just reviewing what you did that day will help you see if you have any doubts, and some of itvwill stay in your kind, which will make studying the topic in depth later will be way easier.

There you go, that will be all for this week, just setting the bases for next one! Good luck and try to do everything!!!!

Come here to see my experience this week, and HERE for a table you can fill in to check how you did each day!

Hey! First off: thanks for coming to my blog. If you want to see this well organised go check the menu on top of the page, because since the most recent post is the first one that appears…This might be a mess!

Then, to the explanation I owe you:

What dis be you must be wondering. This is a small (nope, its ot exactly small) challenge I decided to make when I discovered my study habits were REALLY bad. Its aim? To help me get more consistent when I study, to make a better use out of my time and to challenge myself until I improve. Become a little bit less like Ron Weasley and more like Hermione Granger, basically

Yeah, you get the idea.

How is it going to work? Well, first, subscribe/follow the blog, because I will go updating it once a week at least, telling you how I did the tasks of the week and giving you the new tasks. If you have any recommendations, want to tell me how you did or something like that, just leave me a comments or go hit that contact menu on top of the page!

IMPORTANT: THE MOST RECENT POSTS ARE THE ONES THAT APPEAR FIRST. SO IF YOU ARE NEW HERE, GO CHECK THE TASKS PAGE, ON THE MENU ON TOP. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR MY ADVICE OR MY PERSONALES PERO ENTRE DURING THIS CHALLENGE, THERE ARE ALSO PAGES FOR THAT ON THE SAME MENU. AND HEY, IF YOU JUST WANT SOME INSPO, I HAVE THAT IN THAT MENU TOO! ALSO, FOR THE TABLES FOR EACH WEEK YOU CAN GO PRINT, CHECK THE TABLES OPTION. SAME MENU!

Last but not least, I will tell you about me: I’m Jules, I live in the south of Spain, I am in last year of High School and get pretty good marks without studying. Which I want to change, because I know I could get amazing marks if I moved my ass. Soooooo there we go! Challenge kickoff!!
